40mm Rolex Daytona 16528 18K Gold Black Dial Zenith 1997 40mm Watch Box

The Rolex Daytona ref. 16528 is one of the most desirable vintage Daytona references, combining solid 18K yellow gold construction with the legendary Zenith-based automatic chronograph movement. This U-serial example dates to approximately 1997 and features the sought-after black dial with champagne subdials, creating one of the most recognizable and collectible Daytona configurations ever produced.

Crafted entirely in 18K yellow gold, the 40mm Oyster case is paired with the matching solid 18K yellow gold Oyster bracelet measuring approximately 7½ inches in length. The watch weighs an impressive 160.6 grams, giving it the substantial feel expected from a full gold Daytona. The fixed engraved tachymeter bezel completes the iconic racing-inspired design that has made the Daytona one of Rolex's most celebrated models.

Powering the watch is the renowned Rolex Caliber 4030 automatic chronograph movement, based on the legendary Zenith El Primero architecture and highly regarded by collectors for its reliability, precision, and historical significance. The sapphire crystal provides excellent scratch resistance while the screw-down pushers and Triplock crown help maintain the Oyster case's water-resistant design.

Condition is excellent pre-owned. The case, bracelet and bezel shows only minor signs of normal wear, and the bracelet remains exceptionally tight with very little stretch.
